antique original swinger ansonia clock with two beautiful painted blue balls. This ansonia was owned by a family memer who belonged to the NAWCC (National Association of Watch and Clock Collecters) and he purchased this clock in 1967. Along with other collectable clocks, this clock has been sitting and looking beautiful, without being wound up to run. This clock remains in the family, but, the collector has passed. The cupid is attached to a newer wooden base to give it stabilty. Probably a lamp base because of the little hole in one place. Altogether the clock stands 28 and 1/4 inches tall. The winged cupid with one hand holding a bow and arrow and the other holding the swinger is so special and absolutely beautiful. Note the quiver of arrows and the roses on the base. The paint on the blue balls is worn in places, one on the back of the large ball has a slight dent, but when looking at the clock from the front you don't see the back. The cupid is made of heavy metal and appears to be brass or maybe brass plated. The hand holding the torch is somewhat darker than the rest of the cupid.  If you want to know more about this type of clock you can google. As I part with our family clocks, I trust you will know much more than I about the mechanism. This clock will bring someone much pleasure. I don't know if it works. There is no key to go with this clock. Presently, it is on a stand in front of a mirror, so we have just enjoyed the beauty, front and back, of the clock since 1993. The hands and the numbers on the face are in original perfect condition
