lantern labeled “Geo. B. Carpenter & Co. Chicago”.  The galvanized surface needs a cleaning, but I allow the new owner to handle this.  The glass is in excellent condition.  The divider that separates the two lenses is absent.   The lantern base is in nice shape with the exception of a pin that has come undone from the oil reservoir, (the pin is present).  The pins, (there are two), on the base allow for screwing the base to the main body of the lantern.  I think an enterprising person could reattach this pin, but it has to be inserted inside the reservoir and adhered from the outside somehow.  The lantern would display fine without the repair.
