fine Chinese export silver tea caddy in elongated hexagon shape finished with chrysanthemum decoration that sits atop stepped bracket feet, a Kangxi period form which was an era favourited by many Chinese silversmiths from the late 1800's through to the early 1920's.
This particular design is difficult to find, the more often seen oval shape does come to the market but this shape is virtually unseen in silver.
Standing 5.5" and holding a heavy gauge of 13.5oz this caddy rests firmly in the hand and is an impressive piece of silver in both weight and design.
