[...Produced by J & E Stevens; 1896. PAT.455. H, 8.25" x L 5.5" x W 4.5".]Rare, original Jolly N Bank from J & E Stevens. Made from cast iron and dated on the bottom of the bank. The owner of the bank is supposed to put change in the statues hand. A lever on the back of the bank can be pulled, moving the hand up to the the statues mouth to deposit it. The eyes also roll back with the use of the lever. A great piece of African American Americana artwork. This is a collectible item kept in very good condition for its age!
