A Very Fine Antique Watercolour Painting.
Dated 1886.
The painting measures 50cm x 39cm (19 and a half inches x 15 and a half inches) and is painted on medium/heavy gauge watercolour paper.
The condition is excellent throughout with no damage and no foxing. The work has been mounted and framed sometime during it's history and shows a minimal amount of fading i.e the colours previously protected by the mount are a little richer.
I have included a photograph of the signature to the front of the painting top right. I have been unable to decipher this and information would be welcome.
This work is of the highest standard. The photographs don't really do it justice and viewing is advised although the photographs were taken outdoors on a bright day and so give as near an accurate representation of the actual colours as can be achieved!
