enterprising Folk Artist conceived and constructed this large Folk Art Automaton. The base measures 22” wide by 20” long and the height to the top of the three flag masts is 26”. We have posted many close-up photographs so you can see all 47 hand carved and painted animals, as well as two hunters with their dogs and a shepherd with his flock of sheep. The revolving carousel has three tiers with rows of farmanimals and to the right is a mountain covered with natural rough cork. At the top are mountain goats and there is a hunter at the base. Over in the corner is another carved wood hunter with his dog. There are many small whittled trees with controlled curls. Inside the cork mountain is a clock works.The mechanics for the turning carrousel is a simple flexible spring wire that travels from the clock works to the base of the carrousel.
